If you were anxious that you couldn’t join the Apple AirPods trend with your Google Chromebook, don’t fret — they’re compatible via Bluetooth.

Although AirPods are an Apple item, they can still link up with a Chromebook and other Bluetooth-ready devices, like a Peloton bike. Follow these easy steps to pair your AirPods with your Chromebook:

How to pair AirPods with Chromebook

Required Materials

  • AirPods
  • Chromebook

Step 1:Click the network symbol in the lower right corner of your screen.

This can be found next to the battery and clock on your desktop.

Step 2:Ensure that Bluetooth is activated on your Chromebook.

You can verify this by checking beneath where it indicates “Bluetooth.” If your Bluetooth is deactivated, click the arrow next to Bluetooth to activate it.

Step 3:Select “Bluetooth” and your Chromebook will immediately begin scanning for devices in proximity to pair with.

If your AirPods are not instantly visible, hold down the button on the rear of your AirPods case to make your device detectable. Your AirPods should now appear under Bluetooth.

Step 4:Choose your AirPods within Bluetooth.

Once your AirPods show up under Paired Devices, they are successfully connected. You can now enjoy your wireless listening experience.
