In the initial sneak peek for Dune: Prophecy, Max’s forthcoming television series established in the Dune cosmos, power has its consequences. This footage was disclosed during the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront event on Tuesday.

Dune: Prophecy is motivated by Sisterhood of Dune, the science fiction novel released in 2012 authored by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. The teaser hints at the beginnings of the Bene Gesserit, a decade before the rise of Paul Atreides, while the Sisterhood maneuvers their influence across the Imperium. “This is us playing as deities,” Sister Theodosia asserts in the trailer.

The six-part series will debut this autumn on Max. Check out the official teaser trailer below.

As outlined, Dune: Prophecy “tracks the journeys of two Harkonnen siblings as they confront threats jeopardizing humanity’s future and establish the legendary group that will be recognized as the Bene Gesserit.” Emily Watson and Olivia Williams play Valya and Tula Harkonnen, the central figures in the conflict.

Jointly produced by Max and Legendary Television, Dune: Prophecy’s cast encompasses Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Jihae, Charithra Chandran, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, and Yerin Ha.

Alison Schapker is the showrunner and executive producer of Dune: Prophecy. Diane Ademu-John assisted in developing the series and serves as an executive producer. Executive producer Anna Foerster helmed multiple episodes, inclusive of the premiere. Other executive producers include Jordan Goldberg, Mark Tobey, John Cameron, Matthew King, Scott Z. Burns, and Jon Spaihts. Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, and Kim Herbert are executive producers representing the Frank Herbert estate, with Anderson named as a co-producer.

Dune: Prophecy debuts following Dune: Part Two, the continuation of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. As of May 15, Dune: Part Two has been the top-grossing movie of 2024, accumulating over $710 million worldwide. Dune: Part Two hits the screens on Max on May 21.
